EXHIBITION FOR CAUSE

HELLO READERS !!

A small initiative by group of 10 individuals - students of SOCIAL WORK Department of St. Xaviers College. This event was actually organised, to connect two different society - community - city . In other words tried to expose the real environment of prison and to connect the CITY WITHIN THE CITY !!

This was actually a short noticed program, conducted  within a week. The trainees divided them selves in different sectors ... while some of mine friends / co -trainee's were busy in printing ....  proposal writing ...  ordering stuffs .... I was busy making calls and inviting media  & media personalities - socialites - reporters - activists and so on .....  as i was taking the whole responsibilities of MEDIA & MARKETING of the whole event.

The event officially , started around 10:00 - 10:30 a.m on Saturday, 8 June 2013. The program was conducted in Watrin Hall of college itself. Indira Sapkota of  BHOTU- INDIRA was the guest of honor. Exhibition had exhibited different items like - bags , dhaka topi's , bhadgauley topi's  , bamboo frames , clothes... and so on .  And the program had a very positive response by the visitors. The AIM of the event did really meet up &  i.e  the widely unknown fact that prison isn't a place where people are tormented inside the confined  walls, but it's a correctional  house where each day, inmates develop skills through various training provided inside, and come a step close to re - framing their life - for good .

Many socialites ... celebrities... reporters- did actually made it for the event , despite their tight schedule. For which really want to thank them for their visit - Subexya Bhadel , Prithu Baskota , Smriti Bajracharya , Ahmed Dulla & so on .....

Though it was said to be  one day event but , it was continued the next day as well from 9:00 - 3:00 p.m. Well, talking about money collected from the sells during the exhibition were handed over to the inmates accordingly by the finance in-charge.

Yes , Mother ... a word , that defines our life...

In my words, if i have to define mother  - en m sorry i can't, as the words aren't enough ...... she is the one - the one WHO holds you in her womb for 9 LONG MONTHS.... WHO goes under the LABOR PAIN  to give a LIFE.... WHO cares for you ... PROTECTS you from everything  before and after your birth... WHO helps you find a better way by holding her fingers..... who teaches the DO'S & DON'T'S  of life.... who becomes your BEST FRIEND... a MENTOR ... GUIDE..... SHE'S EVERYTHING - IN A CHILD'S LIFE..... .... .... .... .... ....   TODAY, should i say m the most lucky person to have you ... get to know .... your  love .. your support.. your care.... or should i say m just unlucky to see you in sadness .... in tears.... in worry .....  in depression ... .... ..... .....   Early morning, when all of the children across the globe , were busy preparing /cooking  tasty  foods.... washing dishes....  arranging gifts .... & all , for  there MOTHERS -  there were some waiting in a line - LONG LINE ... to at least get a chance, to see HER FACE . To make her  feel , no matter what   WE ARE YOUR CHILDREN'S ... WE LOVE  - I LOVE AND I RESPECT YOU....  ...
( Well, these all feeling captured me after making my visit to my field work today which is a CORRECTIONAL SETTING - CENTRAL JAIL ! )

TODAY despite, being a academic social worker, i could not follow my principles being as the academic student of social work as  I WAS TOUCHED ..... TOUCHED BY THE SITUATION I GET TO SEE TODAY - IN MY FIELD WORK .......  where, i had to get my self strong - strong with my emotions.
WHAT i saw today, made me feel unlucky & lucky a t the same time -
WHY UNLUCKY ?  Unlucky as i get to see how things works in a correctional settings, like , JAIL / PRISON, where we are so bounded by the rules and regulations, that , we could get to  TOUCH & FEEL the one who brought us into this WORLD , who gave us  a  LIFE to live ahead............ ...... ....

And all i can do now , is write about how i felt !!!

100 DAYS - OF NO ACTION

I CARE - WE CARE

Hope , you all liked my last post. Well, this post of mine is a cover on "CARE NEPAL" organisations event, which was managed by Kgarira event management & promotion company.

This year was my second participation on CARE NEPAL's - INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY CELEBRATION, of which am very glad to be a help for the vulnerable & marginalized  - and SPEAK for there RIGHTS. Well again , this does not mean i just care about  those women like others only on "INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY" - HOPE I MADE YOU ALL CLEAR. As i have been working on & off for the women & their rights.  SO now lets get back to the issue / topic of the post.

Well after attending the program for 3 days continually of CARE NEPAL. Was confused about - how to right about the whole event , and this is how i land up writing "I CARE - WE CARE" 

Overall review of the event- accordingly.

SCOOTER RALLY

Every one was gathering up from 8 am , and slowly started off  by 9 am .Well more then  100 women and  some men turned up at Basantapur Durbar Square to be  a part of CARE NEPAL - SCOOTER RALLY, to mark WOMENS DAY, where the rally went through different streets of KATHMANDU , Like : Lainchour, Uttar Dhoka, Naxal, Putalisadak , Anamnagar , New Baneshwore , Maitighar, Kupondol & finally ended at  Patan  Durbar Square.During the rally even though there was small management problem at the beginning , but things were normal as scooter rally started. And after the registration  (Rs 200 , per person) every participants were proveded with T-shirt , cotton bag (HAMRII BAINI)  & refreshments.

P.S. Well, again a scooter rally does not change the scenario of Nepal , but bring all women & men , Together for a cause.

In the end after the above photo session, by the staffs of CARE NEPAL, announced - MALVIKA SUBBA  as the GOODWILL AMBASSADOR .And after few minus,  scooter rally program was ended & 

ART EXHIBITION Program -started.

Kgarira management & promotion co.  and  Care Nepal's representativeS with the artist of the LIVE ART EXHIBITION PROGRAM.  Where , every artist - draw - painted - sketched , their art taking WOMEN  as reference and portrait different piece of art. Which continued till 3 days  i.e till 10 March, 2013.

DOCUMENTARY PROGRAM 

A short documentary program was organised on the next day  (9 March 2013). I started off around 7 in the evening  in front of GORKHA PATRA OFFICE &  NEPAL BANK  ground  i.e BHUGAL PARK. 

Where , Pushpa basnet  was the chief guest  along with the country director of CARE NEPAL. The documentary program had stories of different women  of the society . The documentary was provided by SAATHI  , HAMRI BAINI (PSA)  & CARE NEPAL.After , hearing the review and reaction of the viewers , it seemed like, they were touched by those stories.

P.S. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK CARE NEPAL & KGARIRA FOR GIVING ME AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE A PART OF THE WHOLE PROGRAM , I MIGHT HAVE STAYED AT HOME  DOING SOMETHING OR OTHER BUT , GLAD I WAS A PART OF IT.

PERSONAL REVIEW OF "CHADKE"

How are you all ? Well, the  title it self  reveals about this blog m about to right about. SO here it goes .


CHHADKE (Nepali Featured flim)
This flim "CHHADKE" has welcomed  NIKUN SHRESTHA  & ROBIN TAMANG (of Robin and the New Revolution), which has definately brought in more publicity for the flim. Along , with NEW ACTORS like ,  KAMESHWOR CHAURASIYA  & BIPIN KARKI ( BINDU)

With the presence of new actors, this flim can also be taken as the comeback movie of NAMRATA SHRESTHA.  Yes, and also has  an array of talents - SAUGAT MALLA, ARPAN THAPA, DAYAHANG RAI  & SUNIL POKHREL .

Well , can't deny that, NIGAM SHRESTHA'S "CHHADKE " was one of the most awaited NEPALI FILMS ,after its trailers & star cast.  Likewise, everything has pros & corns  so was it with this movie.

THE TWO SIDE OF THE MOVIE ;)


It's always good to listen up negative side first, to bring up some remarkable as well as good changes in the  upcoming days..... (Well that's how i perceive)

NEGATIVE FEEDS:

1. "CHHADKE " in nepali we say its looking from a different angle or lets say it a diff. side. Well, many of the viewers were confused  of the TITLE .
   (LIKE-  my friends' sister who's in class 8 asked me if its the movie we should watch sitting in CHHADKE POSITION  if it''s not in that way  then , what ? confused )
2. During its trailer period many of the viewers  thought , that it was gangster - thriller movie + was also mentioned in their FACEBOOK PAGE as well. But things just happened VICE VERSE.
3. There was no connection between the  movie after interval, was quite disappointing to understand.
4. The Director  should have given more dialogues to NAMRATA SHRESTHA.
5. There should be an age bar , as in the end it has some brutal scenes .
   ( MOREOVER while i was watching that movie saw some children between 4-6  aged children were bought by the parents - so i don't think so children are adult enough to watch it)  

POSITIVE FEEDS:

1. The film had tried to cover both gangster & environmental issues of Nepal.
2. The character BINDU played a superb role compared to all , as it hold the film to the end. Well,  NIKUN & ROBIN TAMANG also did a good job in the silver screen.
3. NAMRATA SHRESTHA , played a superb role as a girlfriend of  ROBIN , well she did carried  a combination of "bold & beauty"
4. Outstanding performance would be of  SAUGAT MALLA  .
5. Hats off to all the teams  & its members of the film ....

P.S . It's my personal review of the film after watching it , the very next day of its release. Well to tell ya truth i went to watch with my friend to see my friends' acting . hehehe :)
NIKUN  superb my friend, felt bad when NAMRATA  killed you :/ bad girl .

INHUMAN ACTIVITIES BY STATE ACTORS/ GOVERNMENT OFFICERS

This post of mine is all about , recent activities happening around Kathmandu - Nepal. There are some unwanted activities conducted by state holders...builder or shall i say our so called NEPAL POLICE ?

A brutal activity done by police men  in public area, by shooting a dog & beating till  it's last breath.
WHY ANIMALS ? WHY DOGS ?? If those dogs were all infected by RABIES, then killing them would not be a problem but giving them new life from that pain. But killing dog- STREET DOG in mass / general public for no reason  is a CRIME . YES CRIME, conducted by country protectors... state makers.... ......  

The video below has gone so viral all around social media -  FACEBOOK . I really appreciated this person who uploaded this video and made us aware about "inhuman brutal activity" done my NEPAL POLICEMEN.

INHUMAN POLICEMEN

This video was uploaded on 25 feb,2013 . And the incident took place at BALUWATAR , near PRIME MINSTER'S OFFICE . YES NEAR PM'S RESIDENCE .Yet there's no action against those men.IF you watch this video, tears will roll down your eyes. Indeed . I mean ,till now the reason is still unknown about this activity and i really dont get that men in black jacket .... what was his reason , who was about to throw a brick to that poor dog? What was his intention ?  reason ??

But that cry of late - poor dog is still in my ears.... the cry for HELP .... for LIFE ....for   ESCAPE .   


WHERE IS ANIMAL RIGHTS ? ONE'S ETHIC, VALUES  & PRINCIPLE  ? WHERE ARE THOSE NGO'S ? WHY AREN'T THEY DOING ANYTHING ??

Just because its an animal, does not reacts ... talks backs ... fights back for his/her right does not mean we  human being can act in such an inhuman way....  ... Personally, I am very much touched by  this video, not  only because i love dogs & have them as pet animals,  i wish that poor dog could get a  help his/her life would have been safe.

We all seriously need to do something towards such kinds of activities. I  wish in upcoming days , i will never get to see such video of brutality towards dogs...cats or any other animals in NEPAL nor in ANY OTHER PART OF THE WORLD.
MAY THAT DOG'S SOUL REST IN PEACE .

HAMRI BAHINII - the green angles

"HAMRI BAINI - THE GREEN ANGLES", an initiative by Himalayan Climate Initiatives (HCI) in partnership with - Maiti Nepal, Shakti Smuha , GIZ, Jyoti Groups (industry)  & BHATBHATENI SUPERMARKET & so on . It's a rehabilitating program with the idea of reconciling 15 women back to the society.

Through different means of communications, volunteers were called and 1st batch was selected after screening test.  The role of volunteers was to help women by replacing plastic bag with the cotton bags made by the women in different outlets of BHATBHATENI SUPERMARKET , around kathmandu valley.  The program started off from 15 -02-2013 ( i.e. today) officially after the press meet at  BHATBHATENI SUPERMARKET , tangal on 13 -02-2013.

P.S. me and my friend ( alone with others) are also volunteering & we are the pioneer batch of this wonderful initiative.
